It's a Dog's Life!

Makenna wants a dog. Not a farm dog, since we already have one of them but a small house dog. She has been asking for one for her birthday and Christmas for at least the last year.

Mike and I enjoy the fact that we are one of the few couples in our family without a small dog. We enjoy freedom from another being to take care of, heck we already have 4 kids! ;) Tonight at the campfire there were almost as many dogs as people. (10 people and 6 dogs!)

However, Makenna is persistent girl. (Some may even call her stubborn) ;) Today she and Tansley spent a portion of their day searching puppies on Kijiji and different SPCA sites. She thinks she has found a couple dogs to her liking.

So now the battle begins (or should I say resumes)... Lucky for Mike, he is in town preparing the curling ice for the summer curling camp. I am being swamped with cute doggie pictures and sad tales about how this lonely puppy needs a home.

Now don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind a puppy but I don't want another entity to care for. Who am I kidding, Mike would be doing most of it I am sure. ;) Of course Makenna assures us that she will care for the dog. I am sure at the age of 11 she is old enough to do it but we are busy people. Is it fair to the dog if he/she is alone while we are gone for a large portion of the day some days of the week?

I am trying to stay strong and keep my resolve but Man oh Man those puppies are cute! ;)

What to do when it is too windy at the beach!

We decided it was too windy to go to the beach but the kids were getting hot. Luckily, Kerry & Dean brought a sprinkler! So much fun with so many girls!

Holy doodle two posts in ONE day!

Our Campsite is a revolving door... And that's the way we like it.

My cousin, Randal, his wife, Amanda and their 2 girls were here for the long weekend. They fit right in! The girls loved having extra sisters. We had an enormous water fight and lots of drinks. I hope they had a great time!

As they were packing up, Andrea's Sister in Law, Kerry and her husband Dean and their two kids pulled in beside us!!!

Jim and Sandra Hayes (Cory's Dad and wife) are also here with their two grand daughters. We have one rockin campsite!

Come on out for a visit... As long as you like crowds!

Summertime... Bloggin' Time!

Hey everyone!
It took me 2 whole days to remember how to blog from my phone! Ha Ha!
I guess since I am not working for the summer I can spend some time blogging!
So I survived another school year, barely. Holidays couldn't come fast enough but finally we are back at Tobin Lake. We are booked in from July 1st to August 22nd!
So far we have celebrated Canada Day ... With beverages, and fireworks... July 2nd with a campfire and a big waterfight and a sunburn (Tansley was RED)... Today with the afternoon at the beach, Rider game and now we are getting ready for a fish fry... Courtesy of the fishermen who were busy fishing the morning!

Now I need to figure out how to post pictures from my phone! LOL

The Second Weekend in June.....

I just checked my calendar and the second weekend in June is my next free weekend!!!! Gee I wonder what I will do that weekend... oh, wait, that is June... pretty sure I will be marking!  Now don't get me wrong, I am happy that we are a busy family... it means my kids are involved in things and that we have the means to go places.

Being busy is pretty much my life these days. It is dance season. Makenna is taking two dance exams this week (Jazz and Ballet) and then we are heavy into dance competition season.  I love this time of year. We get to see some pretty interesting locations... Rose Valley and Tisdale!!! Yep, we are hitting the BIG time! LOL Makenna's birthday is during the Rose Valley Dance competition... nothing better than dancing on your birthday.  She is a little bummed because she doesn't get to have a birthday party with her friends this year... but I promised we would make it up to her during our trip to the West Edmonton Mall this Easter... she thought that was a good trade!

I haven't updated here for a while so I thought I would share some pictures of what we have been up to in the last couple months....
